5-Second Review: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
The fact that I read it in what, 3 hours says it all. In those three hours, I kept alternating between "OMFG that's so f*cked up", "Holy crap that's awesome" and "Damn, I wish I'd thought of that". [Ha! I figured out about 1/3 into the book that the mother has Munchausen by proxy and she killed Marian. MBP was on my mind because of story research so I saw it right away. And I thought it would be a bit too obvious if the mother also turned out to be the killer... and what do you know, I was right.] Like a few reviews mentioned, I did find the ending a bit rushed, and it took the impact out of the reveal and the conclusion. But this is still 5 stars. This one will be hard to follow...
